My heart is hurting right now. I so badly try to be kind and raise my kids to be good humans. I want my kids to grow up in a world that is fair and just. I can not fathom the hate in this world, everyone just looking out for themselves. It just does not compute in my brain.•

Bringing some Disneyland magic home 🏡✨. Disneyland has been apart of our lives since we moved back to California five years ago. We have been to the parks every week at least once a week for 5 YEARS; to say it has been a part of our lives is an understatement. •

My kids milestones happened at Disneyland, the first time Natalie was tall enough to go on the “big kids rides” was huge for her and Aiden started learning how to walk in Goofy’s house in Toon Town. We have met amazing friends through our love of Disney and we have made amazing memories in the parks.•
••
We have had to make our own Disney Magic these past six months and to bring a little magic to Natalie’s room we decided to make the Disneyland castle but with pictures of all the memories we have made over the years. It was a lot of work but it was all worth it to bring some magic in our home. I have to give all the hanging credit to my husband though; he spent hours leveling and measuring to make sure everything was perfect. 💕•

We caved and finally got a Switch. They have been so hard to come by so when I found one I thanked my lucky stars and bought it.•

What really pushed us to get a Switch was the fit adventure game; we have been so sedentary at home and it was bringing us down. I figure this way we are playing a game and getting a good workout in at the same time. I actually ended up doing a workout last night and it is SO fun and I felt a little soreness this morning which is either a sign that I really need to start working out or I’m getting old (maybe both 🤣). •

We also got Animal Crossing and we might be addicted. We spent all day yesterday playing as a family it is was one of the best days we’ve had since March. While I grew up in the era of Mario I have never played video games; they honestly have never interested me and I always got frustrated with the controller. Animal Crossing has totally changed that for me; although I am still learning how to enter a door properly because it takes me about 2-3 attempts to get into a building 🤣🤣 (my husband finds it hilarious).•

We went on an adventure!! We haven’t been out too much but the kids definitely needed a change of scenery and a little mid week pick me up. I was browsing Tik Tok and saw this video of these adorable character cotton candy creations and found out they were local! These adorable cotton candy characters can be found in Huntington Beach, CA from Polar Playground; they even have ice cream and soft serve there too! Their hours are limited due to Covid so definitely check out their Instagram page for their latest opening hours. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and are open Wednesday-Sunday from 1pm-8pm.•

Blue skies, blue water, golden sand, and the warm sun; our mini family trip to Coronado, Sand Diego was perfect. This was our first BIG outing since March and it was much needed. We were safe and wore our masks the whole time and stayed away from other beach goers. The kids really just enjoyed being able to play and splash around in the waves.•

I have been hearing amazing things about the Costco Raspberry Crumble Cookies. So I bought a pack and let me tell you; YUM! Of course I had to add a little magic to it 😉.•

On top of the raspberry crumble cookie I added Trader Joe’s Vanilla Non Dairy Frozen Dessert and a Golden Kiwi on the side. I think adding a medley of fresh berries with a mint leaf would of made this dish even more delicious and also add some color to it but I didn’t have any on hand; next time.•

Just a little throwback to Little Red when he was itty bitty and he would give all the characters his “finger clicks”. I’ve watched the video over and over again and I can’t stop laughing; hopefully it brings you some joy. 😊💕

Let’s talk Disneyland Annual Passes

So our passes expire in about a week and I’ve known for awhile now that I needed to choose whether to renew our passes or not. So I called the Disneyland Annual Pass Hotline (714.781.7277) expecting to wait for hours to get on the line with someone but I didn’t even have to be put on hold (sad; no Disney music). I got to talk to Erin a Cast Member and explained that our passes were paid in full and we heard from a friend (thank you @skye.makes.magic ) that there was an option to not renew but to keep our passes until the parks reopen and we would be able to use our passes for however long the parks remained closed.•

Erin explained to me that was true BUT to get the refund we had to decide before the parks reopening date. She did remind me that if I chose to get the refund there would be no way to go back and change my mind; and also they will not be selling new passes or new tickets once the parks reopen.•
••
So for passes paid in full there are two options.

🎟Option 1: Do not renew but keep passes “active” until the parks reopen and we will have the same amount of time the parks were closed to use our passes (as of now that is 5 months). You have until the date of the parks actually reopening to decide if you want to request a refund or keep your pass.

🎟Option 2: Request a refund. With this option you can not change your mind. Keep in mind that passes and tickets will not be sold when the parks reopen.•

Erin convinced me the best option is to wait it out until we hear more from Disney. I know we want to go back to the parks once we feel like it’s safe but we also understand that Disneyland is a business and they are going to open as soon as they are able to. My BIG concern is that Disney will change the policy after our expiration date passes and we are no longer eligible to get a refund on our passes. My plan was to request a refund and put that money towards new passes when they have that option again. Do you think Disney is going to get rid of passes altogether?•

I love that the girls have such a great friendship and they are two peas in a pod. Not only that but Kim and Ricky are some of the nicest people you will meet. We are blessed to call The Mai Family our friends; but really they are more than just friends.💕•
